NFE 2008/2009 Tournaments and Bowl Games

National Football Events announces the schedule of post season tournaments.

        Midwest Football Tournament     MFT     XIV
        Mid States Football Tournament MSFT    XII
        USFA Harvest Bowl XII
        USFA Metro Bowl IV

We will also offer the following inaugural tournaments.

        Greater Midwest Football Tournament
        Central States Football Tournament
        USFA Southeast Football Tournament

Invitations and scheduling will be announced soon.

The Greater Midwest Tournament is available to those teams whose leagues complete their season in August or early September. All other tournaments will be scheduled to coincide with the conclusion of league play in their region.

Tournament winners will receive an invitation to play in a National Bowl Game in Florida during National Football Events' National Bowl Weekend. Bowl games will be played on January 17-18, 2009 (Martin Luther King weekend).

Island Warriors Win Casino Bowl XIII

The Island Warriors of Las Vegas showed why they are the #1 ranked team by Minor League Football News and by National Football Events . The Warriors beat the NFE All Stars in Casino Bowl XIII by a score of 44 to 7 .

The Warriors scored on their first possession with a 20 Yd. pass from QB Ted Kennedy to WR Epi Hernandez Jr. They went on to score 14 more points in the first quarter . The Warriors continued their one sided attack in the 2nd quarter .They ran an interception back for a TD ( they also ran one back in the first quarter ). Half time score, Warriors 31 and NFE All Stars 7.

The 3rd quarter was scoreless . The NFE All Stars scored in the 4th quarter on a 1 Yd plunge by RB Deon Morris of the St. Louis Bulldogs . Steve Moser converted the extra point to continue his record of scoring in 11 Casino Bowl games . Willie Garrett scored the final TD for the Warriors . Willie has been a Casino Bowl MVP while playing for the West squad in three previous Casino Bowl games.

National Football Events Honors Cheri Kardas

Cheri Kardis National Football Events is pleased to announce that our 2008 Honoree Of The Year is Cheri Kardas.

Cheri Kardas has been active in the world of semi-pro football for 20 years. She began by assisting the Operations Manager of the DuPage (IL) Eagles and was very involved during their 2 AFA National Championships.

Cheri eventually became an owner of the Chicago Panthers and later the Will County Buccaneers.

Cheri has been a director for over 10 years for the Midwest Football Tournament and the Mid States Football Tournament.

She has traveled to Hawaii with Team USA one year and with Minor League Football News another year as a support staff member. She has also been a key person in the development of National Bowl Weekend, which just crowned its 4th annual national champion in Fort Pierce, Florida.

In 2005 Cheri was inducted into the American Football Association’s Hall of Fame.

We are very pleased and proud to recognize Cheri and invite you to join us with a reception at the Tropicana Hotel & Resort in Las Vegas on Friday evening March 28, 2008.
